10-Day Road Safety Utsav 2025

IMS Unison University successfully concluded its 10-Day Road Safety Utsav 2025, themed “Road Safety Starts with Me.” The initiative aimed to inspire young people to adopt safe practices on the road and promote the belief that meaningful change begins with individual responsibility.

The campaign was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mr. Varun Gulati, Chair, Road Safety Vertical, CII-Yi Dehradun Chapter, in the presence of dignitaries, including Mr. Ankit Lamba (Chair, CII-Yi Dehradun Chapter), Mr. Puneet Wadhwa (Co-Chair, CII-Yi Dehradun Chapter), Mr. Amit Rathore, and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anil SubbaRao Paila. Dr. Vinay Rana, Dean of Student Affairs, encouraged students to actively engage in socially impactful initiatives like road safety awareness.

Each day of the Utsav carried a focused theme such as Slow Down, Save Lives; Buckle Up for Safety; Don’t Drink and Drive; Pedestrians First; and Green Means Go, Red Means Stop. Students enthusiastically conveyed these messages through creative activities, including poster and banner designs, awareness rallies, open mic sessions, poetry and singing performances, and social media reels.

Key highlights included:

• A spirited rally highlighting pedestrian rights

• A quiz for university bus and cab drivers to test and enhance road safety knowledge

• A treasure hunt on road safety slogans, won by Team Blue (Rashika, Deepshikha, Shaurya, Akshara, Diya, and Anushka)

• A short film competition showcasing compelling student narratives on safe road practices

The valedictory session, attended by leaders from CII-Yi Dehradun Chapter, featured film screenings, prize distribution, and a collective pledge by participants. Winners included Akshita Thapa (Open Mic), Sanjay Shah (Quiz), Team Blue (Treasure Hunt), and Jiya Thapa (Short Film).

The campaign concluded with a resounding message: road safety is not merely about compliance with laws, but a civic and moral duty for every individual.
